We saw many a sunrise, including this one over Mount Bromo poking through the clouds. The view is from the peak of nearby Mount Penanjakan in Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java.
We later descended below the clouds to cross the sea of sand and went up to the crater mouth of the sulfur-smoke belching mount bromo. The air was particularly thick that day with the gag-inducing throat-stinging smoke and dust and after a point visibility was at absolute zero, so we didn’t make it all the way up. “Mount Bromo, East Java, Indonesia
